Speaking & Workshops

Your best people are running on a system that was never built to last!

You can see when someone's checked out. You can't always see when someone's about to break.

I help leadership teams spot the difference between drive and survival mode — before it costs them their top performers, their culture, and their bottom line.

The Problem

Every organization is running on people whose nervous systems are stuck in survival mode, and most leaders don't know it, because survival mode doesn't look like a problem. It looks like productivity.

It looks like the employee who never says no. It looks like the manager who answers emails at midnight. It looks like the team member everyone depends on — right up until they're gone.

Here's what most leadership teams miss: burnout, disengagement, and turnover aren't separate problems. They're downstream of the same root cause — employees operating from survival responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn) instead of clear, grounded decision-making. And no amount of wellness perks fixes a nervous system problem with a surface-level solution.

The cost isn't abstract. Replacing a single skilled employee runs six to nine months of their salary. Burnout alone is estimated to cost U.S. companies up to $190 billion a year, and most of that cost comes from the employees nobody was worried about.

Your systems can catch a slacking employee. They were never built to catch a burning-out one.

What I Do

I'm Sheneica Hunter-Gibbs, a licensed clinical mental health therapist (LCMHC, NCC) and the founder of The Client Journey Counseling & Consulting. I spend my clinical hours treating trauma and anxiety in high-functioning adults, and I spend my speaking and facilitation hours bringing that same clinical insight into corporate spaces, because the patterns I see in the therapy room are the same patterns quietly running your workforce.

I don't do generic "wellness" talks. I teach leadership teams and employees the actual nervous system science behind why people shut down, overwork, people-please, or disengage, and I give them language and tools to recognize it in real time, before it turns into a resignation letter or a resentment-fueled team.

My work translates nervous system and attachment science into language people feel recognized by, often before they've said a word about what they're going through.

The Framework: Unlearn & Return

My signature program, Unlearn & Return, is built on a simple premise: most workplace dysfunction isn't a character problem. It's a survival pattern.

Participants learn to identify their default stress response; fight, flight, freeze, or fawn, and understand how it's shaping their communication, their decision-making, and their working relationships in real time. This isn't theory. It's an interactive, scenario-based experience where people map their actual reactions against real workplace situations and walk away with language for what's happening in their bodies before it derails a conversation, a deadline, or a working relationship.

What leadership teams consistently tell me after a session:

Managers finally have language for what they were seeing but couldn't name

Employees stop internalizing survival responses as personal failure, which opens the door to actual behavior change

Teams identify their at-risk high performers before an exit interview forces the conversation

Who This Is For

This work is for you if:

You have high performers who never say no, and it worries you more than it impresses you

Your turnover costs are climbing and exit interviews keep surfacing "burnout" without a clear pattern

Your managers can sense something is off with their teams but don't have language or tools to name it

You've invested in wellness perks and engagement surveys, and retention still isn't moving

You're building a culture where high performance and psychological safety aren't at odds

Formats

Flexible delivery built around what your organization actually needs:

Keynote: a high-impact session for all-hands meetings, leadership offsites, or conferences

Half-Day / Full-Day Workshop: interactive, scenario-based training for leadership teams or departments

Multi-Week Program: deep, sustained behavior change for teams ready to go beyond a single session

Webinar / Virtual Series: scalable delivery for distributed or hybrid teams

Every engagement is customized to your industry, your team's specific pressure points, and the outcomes your leadership is accountable for.
