Who We Are

The Client Journey Counseling & Consulting PLLC is dedicated to supporting individuals in overcoming mental and emotional challenges rooted in past experiences. We specialize in addressing adult childhood trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression, recognizing the profound impact these issues have on personal development and relationships. Our mission is to empower clients to heal from past traumas, embrace their authentic selves, and develop effective action plans for a more fulfilling future. Through compassionate guidance and evidence-based strategies, we assist clients in navigating their unique journeys toward emotional wellness and self-acceptance.

Embracing one's authentic self is a vital component of the healing process. Living authentically involves expressing our true selves, not the versions that society expects or accepts. This authenticity is deeply intertwined with our sense of self-worth and self-understanding. By embracing the validity of all our emotions and acknowledging the impossibility of pleasing everyone, therapy can become a catalyst for rediscovering our authenticity. It can help us think deeply about our values and change our behaviors so they align more authentically with our true selves, helping us let go of the false self we have created in order to fit in.

At The Client Journey, we believe in the transformative power of authenticity and are committed to walking alongside you every step of the way.

  • Sheneica Hunter-Gibbs (Owner); LCMHC, NCC

I specialize in working with adults navigating the long-term impact of childhood trauma, including stress, anxiety, depression, and relational challenges. I understand that what you’re experiencing today didn’t start today, and often, the patterns that feel confusing or frustrating now were once ways your mind and body learned to survive.

Drawing from both my professional training and lived experiences, I take a deeper, more intentional approach to healing. Together, we don’t just focus on surface-level symptoms; we explore the root of your emotional and behavioral patterns. This includes identifying survival responses such as people-pleasing, over-functioning, avoidance, or emotional shutdown, and understanding how they developed and why they continue to show up in your life.

My approach integrates Psychoanalytic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Informed Care, while also incorporating a holistic perspective. This means we look at the full picture; you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. We explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, body responses, relationships, and environment to create meaningful and lasting change.

In our work together, I will support you in building awareness, increasing emotional regulation, and developing healthier ways of thinking, responding, and relating both to yourself and to others. Healing is not about becoming someone new; it’s about understanding who you’ve had to be, and creating space to become who you truly are.

I am committed to helping you move beyond survival mode and into a life that feels more grounded, intentional, and aligned. You don’t have to navigate this alone!

  • LaDavia Prescott LCSW

My experience includes working with adults, groups, & families in inpatient & outpatient settings.

My work, in addition to private practice, focuses on serving Veterans & their caregivers in outpatient settings through the Salisbury VA Medical Center. In private practice, I see clients for issues related to depression, anxiety, life transitions/adjustments, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, and PMADs (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders).

I embrace a strengths-based perspective, person-centered therapy along with a blend of CBT to help you address negative thoughts, feelings, & beliefs.

I am dedicated to partnering with you on your healing journey.

  • Xaria Hudson, LCSWA

I provide therapy with the understanding that healing is not linear and every client brings a
unique story to the space. My work focuses on helping individuals navigate the complexities of their mental and emotional well-being, particularly when life feels overwhelming, disconnected,
    or stuck.

I’ve supported clients through challenges like anxiety, trauma, mood disorders,
    substance use, and relational conflict.

My approach is direct, compassionate, and rooted in the belief that you already have the
capacity for change. Therapy helps you access it. I use cognitive-behavioral tools along with person-centered techniques to build insight, shift unhelpful patterns, and strengthen emotional regulation.

Whether we’re exploring patterns shaped by past experiences or working on the real-life issues showing up in your relationships, parenting, or self-worth, I’m here to hold space, offer perspective, and help you stay accountable to your growth.

Therapy with me is a partnership. It’s about clarity, not perfection. I’m committed to walking with you as you navigate your journey forward.
